Was Today Worlds Cousins Day?

If it’s not, it ought to be!

Today I called on three of them and talked to another. Not counting those whom I happily met in Chennai over last four weeks and more to go!

When we met it was like we were resuming our conversation from where we left off only a short while ago. Some of whom I haven’t met for at least a couple of years. And god knows when I’ll meet them next.

We’re a generation that grew enjoying the company of cousins, fond of them, building happy childhood memories. And, that hasn’t changed one bit with the years rolling by, without regard to our individual station or the paths we took in life.

All that is needed to nurture the relationship: once in a while, a telephone call or a message, showing genuine warmth during an occasional house call…and no more.

And in times of trouble, they are always around.

So me thinks this breed is very special and deserves to be honored.

The day celebrated as World Cousins Day?

Just like the days marked for others in the family and the friends we are blessed with who are no less.

At least for me it was a ‘My Cousins Day‘.

‘Click’ and the gate opened easily!

What Are Husbands Like?

This guy was watching TV as his wife was out cutting the grass during the hot summer. He finally worked up the energy to go out and ask his wife what was for supper.

Well, his missus was quite irritated about him sitting in the air-conditioned house all day while she did all the work: “I can’t believe you’re asking me about supper right now! Imagine I’m out of town, go inside and figure dinner out yourself.”

So he went back in the house and fixed himself a big steak, with potatoes, garlic bread and tall glass of iced tea.

The wife finally walked in about the time he was finishing up and asked him, “You fixed something to eat? So where is mine?”

“Huh? I thought you were out of town.”
