Unforgettable Melodies

Movie: Anokhi Raat (1968)

Song: Oh Re Taal Mile Nadi Ke Jal Mein

Star cast: Sanjeev Kumar, Zahida, Mukri

Singer: Mukesh

Music Director: Roshan

Lyricist: Indivar

Album:  Legends Mukesh- 4. Licensed to YouTube by saregama (on behalf of Saregama)

Tidbit: Roshan passed away before the movie was completed. Zahida, the heroine, is a niece of Nargis.

Movie: Modern Girl (1961)

Song: Ye Mausam Rangeen Sama

Star cast: Pradeep Kumar, Sayeeda Khan, Smriti Biswas

Singer: Mukesh, Suman Kalyanpur

Music Director: Ravi

Lyricist: Gulshan Bavra

Quality: Could be better. In the second half, the song is rendered once again, this time the sound is better. The song is too melodious to miss despite the quality issue.

About sad end of Sayeeda Khan: The heroine of this movie was Sayeeda Khan (in the clip). There is very little known about her – she was a small time actress active in Bollywood in 1960’s; acted in a few movies: opposite Kishore Kumar in movies like “Crorepati” and “Apna Haath Jagannath”, with Manoj Kumar in “Honeymoon”. She married Brij Sadanah (producer of “Victoria no. 203”). In 1990, her husband killed Sayeeda Khan and their daughter, before killing himself. Luckily their son Kamal, who was not at home, survived. Kamal Sadanah later acted as hero in a movie called “Rang”. (Source: YouTube)
