A drabble (100-word story) on ‘Bottle’:
There was a thud and glass crashing. I rushed.
Slumped against the bed – one look at her, I knew she was gone. The bottle lay broken into pieces. The glass of water on the side-table was sipped.
So soon? What luck!
It was procured at top prices, guaranteed to act instantly, leave no traces. Slipping it was easy. Four pills in the bottle now, only a sharp eye would notice the pale rose tinge.
Everything had gone swimmingly until her estranged son retrieved from deep under the side-table a glass fragment and a couple of them. One was tinged rose.
